Austin Shooter Latest Breaking News Graver

An male suspect has been killed by Texas police early this morning after the man allegedly began to fire a weapon towards buildings in downtown Austin.

Police were responding to reports of gunshots from an active shooter, as described by Austin residents around 2:22am.

Austin Police Department’s Assistant Chief Raul Munguia said in a news conference that the suspect was firing his weapon at a number of municipal buildings, including the police headquarters building.

With reports of the shooter being equipped with some kind of vest, the Austin police ensured that the bomb squad was called to the scene of the crimes.

Shortly after Police engaged the shooter in gunfire, he was reported as being killed. The Austin police headquarters were evacuated during the events, but no police officers were injured during the shootout, or evacuation process.

A major roadway, I-35, was closed down during the police response to the gunman but has now been reported as being re-opened.
